Spotlight: Couture for Cancer Event in Boston
I spend a lot of time attending events across the country, helping fabulous organizations kick off Union & Fifth fundraising campaigns. And I realized that these great events deserve to be shared with people who may not even know the events are happening.
On Thursday, the Union & Fifth team lugged boxes of donation kits and a suitcase full of accessories and headed to the Boston Park Plaza to help The Friends of Mass General Cancer Center kick off their campaign at their Couture for Cancer fashion show event.
This is not your average fashion show. Cancer survivors, paired with their Doctors or Nurses, strutted their stuff down a NYFW-worthy runway in Nic & Zoe outfits. Union & Fifth happily offered handbags and scarves from our collection, and Ashley Morgan Designs added a bit of sparkle. The room was beautiful, the event went off with out a hitch, and they even gave me a microphone to explain fundraising for the Cancer Center with Union & Fifth.
I spent the afternoon in a room with the inspiring women who had either beaten cancer, or were making sure their patients were. From the woman who got two cancer diagnosis at the same time, to the young woman who had been traveling with her dad for 18 years from the West Coast to Mass General to get the special care he needs, to the young girl who bravely walked the runway to close out the event with a standing ovation, you are the reason we started Union & Fifth.
We are committed to helping organizations reach their fundraising goals so they can worry about more important things like taking care of those that need it most.
Thank you to The Friends of Mass General for making us a part of your campaign. Thank you to the ladies in Mass General’s development office for embracing innovation.
