HOUSTON IS A RUNWAY
Hello Houston! Words I never thought I would say so regularly - But H-Town is a runway all on it's own. The women have fierce style and few places have nailed the intersection between fashion and philanthropy like Houston has.
We had to share our latest excursion, Runway Houston, an event in an actual CASTLE (in a field, oddly enough). Raising money for Leukemia Lymphoma Society and Houston Children Give Back, Runway Houston is in it's 5th year. What started out as a 30th birthday party with some art and fashion and a little charity has grown into 4 runway shows, 400 people and actual art installations - all with the intention of raising a bunch of money for two fantastic causes. Shout out to founder and head-of-everything Omar Marcos (who's "day job" is being a fantastic photographer - check his site out here) (http://www.omarmarcosphoto.com)
We were treated to some pretty amazing designs by the likes of Candice Cuoco (House of Ccuoco), Aries Milan (Kate Mills Pretty) , Joyce Echols (Joyce Echols), Paola Contreras (Inclan), and Nancy Nguyen (Nhi Nguyen).
We may have a bit of a fan-girl thing going for the featured designer House of Ccuoco, or Project Runway fame. (And, a fellow Bay Area native!) Be sure to check out one of our new favorite bloggers Authentically B for fantastic behind the scene photos and shots of all four designers (https://authenticallyb.com/2016/04/08/runway-houst...)
Union & Fifth is honored to help Runway Houston raise even more money for these two great causes .
