GIVING TUESDAY: THE FOUNDERS COLLECTION
It was on Giving Tuesday 2014 that Union & Fifth flipped the switch to on. Although that moment turned out to be anticlimactic (we actually had no idea what was going to happen), witnessing the momentum of "Fashion as a Force for Good" has been astonishing.
We had no idea what were getting into, but we did know that we loved fashion and charity, and that we were not alone. Thankfully we were right! Thanks to the 2,500+ donors and the hundreds of thousands of shoppers, we have raised over $1 million for more than 250 charities.
We would like to take a moment to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to all of you for your continued support through these past few years. A thank you for you patience as we learned on the job, a thank you as we panicked when there was a lull in donations, a thank you when we stressed about how to reach you. Thank you for being there as we figured out what it meant to optimize, and target, and figure out how to spread the word–all so that we could get the money to the charities as fast as we possibly could.
As a non-profit, we are not able to take millions of dollars in investment from venture groups, unlike a for-profit online consignment site. That makes it hard for us sometimes. We count on the kindness and enthusiasm of people like you to help spread the word, by convincing your boards to launch a clean out campaign, by introducing us to your friends working in the media, and by sharing Union & Fifth with your friends and family who want to "Shop for Good."
The “Founders Collection” represents a closet clean out from Pam and me, along with a selection of some of our favorite pieces from the site. Keep in mind that with each and every donation and purchase you are making a difference in someone's life. Together we are a "Force" supporting kids, dogs, vets, research, the earth and so much more.
Thank you for helping us make Fashion A Force For Good.
