Do Something Small
Stella McCartney grew up on an organic farm. She has lived amid sustainability at its most raw. It is no wonder to her (or the world) that she would let that piece of herself resonate in her fashion design story. McCartney has managed to weave a creative tapestry of natural and man-made fiber toward a sleek and elegant vision. She has managed to bring vegan-friendly accessories and clothing to the mainstream with one simple idea: make it comfortable.
McCartney was one of the earliest designers to base an entire brand on cruelty-free principles. She launched her company in 2001 and now has over 48 stores worldwide. She has pushed the needle forward for eco-friendly designers, due in large part to the mission-driven decision-making ethos: responsible, modern, and vegetarian. These three concepts hold so much weight in an industry often finding itself lost in the supply chain pandora.
McCartney’s Fall 2017 launch is shaping up to be an incredible mix of interesting cuts, tailored and classic shapes, and fresh-thinking that pushes the boundaries of vegan materials. You’ll do a double take: “That’s Vegan?!” Yes, it is my friends.
